FAQ’s – Playgroup

We have a designated nappy changing area for families to use at both our Lynwood Gardens and our Whiteley Woods site.

Our playgroups and stay and play sessions are usually aimed at families with children under 5 years. However, we welcome family members of all ages to come and join us.

During school holidays we provide some activities for children over 5 years so that old siblings are able to join in the fun too – keep an eye out for our playgroup specials!

We try to work with the weather to create fun experiences for you and your child, however in some circumstances we may have to cancel a playgroup if it is unsafe to run. If you have bought a ticket for a playgroup and it ends up being cancelled then you can transfer your ticket on to another one of our playgroups.

Lynwood Gardens – There is usually lots of parking in the Francis Newton pub car park, however please check the parking terms and conditions and ensure you have paid. There may also be spaces on Dorset Street or Gloucester Crescent which are free but often very limited.

Whiteley Woods – There is no parking allowed in the outdoor activity centre and so families are asked to park on Common Lane and walk in to the activity centre to join us for playgroup.

Being outdoors the ground can change depending on the weather; from being hard and dry in the summer to wet and squelchy in the winter. We would always support in helping you to get to and around our sites.

Always dress for the weather when you are joining us, whether that be layering up for the cold, or suncream and hats in the heat. We often have water, mud and paint out at playgroups throughout the year so please come dressed in clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet, muddy and messy!

We provide snacks at all of our playgroup and cater for vegan diets. Snacks may be a baked or fire-cooked treat or some juicy fruit. We ask that when booking onto a session you make us aware of any dietary requirements or allergies to ensure we can adapt snacks where needed.
