My career in early years began back in 2012 when I started an apprenticeship within a nursery. I have since worked in multiple nursery settings and have gained an Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies. From early on in my career I knew that I wanted to make a difference not only to children and families, but to the quality of provisions offered. I enjoy supporting early years practitioners to develop their skills and knowledge and have done consultancy work with nurseries and childminders, striving to support others to achieve their potentials – for me working in early years is far more than just working with children.
When I first joined Sheffield Woodland Kindergarten Ltd at the start of 2022 the plan was to stay for 6 months, however the outdoor approach to education and the values and ethos of the Kindergarten changed my whole view on early years. I didn’t even know fully outdoor settings existed before I found Kindy, and yet here I am over a year later loving the outdoor life and adapting everything I once knew
“I would never have thought a ‘nursery with no building’ is where I would end up finding the true magic of early years education!”
