I’ve been working with children from birth to 5 years old since 2014 and I have achieved a level 5 degree in Early Years. I have worked in different indoor settings including schools and private nurseries, meeting lots of incredible teachers, practitioners and managers which has supported and encouraged me to develop and grow into the Manager I am today. Sheffield Woodland Kindergarten is the first outdoor setting I have had the pleasure of working at and it has opened my eyes to a whole new way of promoting and supporting children’s learning.
My priority as a manager is to ensure that Sheffield Woodland Kindergarten offers children the best start in life through an enriched, individual curriculum that allows them to reach their full potential whilst enabling them to explore and access every aspect of the outdoors, we love all weathers and see them as a learning opportunity rather than an inconvenience. We take great care and pride in every aspect of our setting and that is what promotes our love and enthusiasm for the outdoors, this includes our continuous provision which consists of a range of loose parts and open ended resources to spark children’s imagination, suitable facilities to support individual children’s needs, an enhanced and tailored curriculum with the child at the heart of everything we do, and most importantly, carefully selected staff with a good understanding of the EYFS to support and nurture the children’s learning.
