Tanya

Practitioner @ Lynwood Gardens

Tanya’s interest in education began in her early experiences babysitting, where she discovered the value of outdoor play in children’s development. This passion led her to pursue a BA degree in Education at Aberystwyth University, followed by gaining a PGDE and QTS in Primary Education at the University of Edinburgh, where outdoor learning is heavily embedded in the curriculum.

Tanya previously worked in a primary school supporting SEND children, developing her ability to support children with additional needs. Tanya believes that each child should be encouraged to explore and engage with their natural environment, allowing them to develop at their own pace while receiving gentle guidance to reach their full potential.

Tanya is particularly passionate about creating inclusive opportunities for children to connect with nature and develop their independence through outdoor experiences. Her background working with SEND children has given her valuable insights into supporting every child’s unique learning journey with an inclusive and warm approach.

In Tanya’s spare time, she loves painting, yoga, Pilates and walks with her energetic Labrador, Doug.

“Like how plants grow towards sunlight, I believe that children instinctively seek out the activities and environments they need to flourish and develop in their own unique way”.
